Won't be long before all Kmarts close. I'm frankly surprised it hasn't happened yet.

How the mighty have fallen.

What was once one of the largest retailers in the nation is now a shadow of its former self. Kmart and Sears aren't long for the world

With this line of closings, Sears will unload its Craftsman brand of tools

This means that the only Kmart stores remaining east of I-95 are in Jacksonville and Morehead City.

Out of curiosity. what is the value in shopping at Kmart? Good prices? Products? Admittedly, I haven't been in one in years.

There's also one in Kill Devil Hills. The closing of the Concord store means the complete demise of Super Kmart in NC.

During the summer I spent some time listening to 102.5 The Shark out of the Outer Banks and this K-Mart was constantly running ads for employee recruitment. I have no idea what the store looks like (not as dingy maybe?) but they must be the exception.
