We are visiting Hampstead this summer and plan to do some boating. Are there any restaurants along the intracoastal that have docks and allow you to pull up for lunch?

If you want to go SOUTH, The Provision Company in Southport was always one of my favorites. Beware, jerks like me would jeer you if you made a bad landing! Great steamed shrimp and beer on the ICW!

Default Sears Landing is a great spot in Surf City

You can go under the swing bridge in Surf City (they are currently building a huge overhead bridge but it is not done yet) and the swing bridge opens on the hour, every hour, and just past the bridge make your way over to Sears Landing, great drinks, indoor and outdoor seating. Good dock and lots of fun.

You would have to go far to get to downtown Wilmington.

The Wrightsville Beach restaurants BC noted along the Intercoastal are all set up for boat access. As well, there is a town dock near the beach, which gives you walking access to Tower 7 among a few others.

You can down to Carolina Beach and find a few more. To get to Wilmington you have to go all the way to Carolina Beach and back up the river. If you made that haul, you can dock (for a price) and walk anywhere in downtown Wilmington. It would be a full day trip to get from Hampstead to Wilmington, back and explore downtown.

Depending on the boat, you can go to Morehead City and Beaufort in a couple of hours from Hampstead. Lots of water front restaurants in both locations and a nice ride to boot.

Soon you'll be able to dock at Port City Marina downtown and have 2 restaurants open. A TexMex and Seafood. The hotel will go up next and it already looks great down by the PPD building.
