Hi, I was noticing since Coastal NC has lots of insects and animals like FL why don't I see the home pools with the screen houses like in FL? I like screen house for night swimming. We are looking for a retirement area and looking at both NC and FL. Thanks all

I liked those in Florida too, but that is the only place I've seen them. More gators in Florida then NC. Are the cages to keep alligators, pythons and other invasive species out of the pool? I also liked the armadillos running around.

I live in Florida (used to live in Goldsboro, Mt. Olive and Kinston) and I think the pool cages are mostly to keep the mosquitos out. It's extremely rare to see a pool down here without the pool cage.

Its obviously not that big of an issue in NC. But if it concerns you, build one. Good luck.

I think it has to do with the occasional snow and ice that we get in NC that may cause the cage to collapse. But I've also thought they'd be nice to have here, too.

Yeah, more likely in Goldsboro and Kinston. But there are lots of mosquitoes in the evening on the coast. I wishe we had a screen house in our development.
