Okay...so I know this post has been talked about extensively on this thread, but I have a few more questions!

I'm about to start classes at the Health Sciences Campus @ ECU and need an apartment that is decent and SAFE! I am aware that Greenville is not the safest town, so I want to live somewhere that I feel comfortable being by myself- especially at night. Ideally, I'd like to find an apartment near the hospital, but am willing to commute if it will provide a better peace of mind.

The apartments I liked near the hospital were Treybrooke, Holly Glen, and Waterford Place (the Reserve). Are those all pretty comparable or is one better/safer than the others?

I'd appreciate any input you have on those complexes, in addition to your suggestions on other towns/complexes you think would be nice and safe. Money is not a factor, as I have a full scholarship.

Also, I visited the Pointe at Wimbledon and was not super impressed...

Treybrooke and Waterford are good. I believe Waterford is a little older than Treybrooke, but both are fine for a students on the HSC. As for Holly Glen, I haven't been there, so I can't say either way.

Lots of people live in Treybrooke who work or go to classes at Brody. I know a few people who had issues with break-ins but that was awhile ago. I didn't like the way the apartments were set up with either having somebody above you, or having to live on the 3rd floor.

I lived for a time at Meridian Park off Arlington and thought it was fine. There's a lot of choices off Spring Forest Road which may also work out. As a gross over-generalization I wouldn't live east of Memorial because either the commute won't be worth it for a town the size of Greenville (often 25+ minute commute to the eastern part of town--not to mention the chance of getting caught at the railroad on Arlington), or the area won't be safe.

Good luck with the move and your upcoming classes.

Hello, I have lived in Treybrooke since March, 2016. My daughter has lived here for 9 years with my granddaughter. Today I turned in my notice to vacate. Sad and happy. I LOVE Treybrooke. I LOVE my apartment. It will be ready for a new owner on June 1. 502-12 My apartment does not seem like an apartment. It feels more like a small home or cottage. The rent was very reasonable for the area. I am almost 70 years old so I never used the pools, gym, volley ball, tennis courts or other amenities. The office staff were always super helpful and friendly. They plan special activities each month and often provided treats for residents in the office. No bad attitudes up there. It is super quiet here. I hear the birds all the time. Lots and lots of green grassy areas and the lawn people are always working and keep it looking good. I have a nice storage room near my front door which is very handy. I have a one bedroom but it is really a two bedroom. The second bedroom is smaller, but has a closet. I have one and a half bathrooms. The shower has plenty of hot water and a nice strong flow. The living room has a wood burning fireplace that works perfectly. Easy to use and no smoke in the room I put a window antenna up and I was able to get a few good channels without paying for cable TV. Lots of nice windows and light coming in. There are washer and dryer hook ups in a closet in the small bathroom. The kitchen is just the right size for me. A nice U shaped layout. No built in microwave, which was fine. I missed having a smooth top stove though. They have the ones with the burners. The person who designed these buildings did an awesome job. Most of the apartments are very private. No one ever comes near my front door unless they are coming to see me or delivering a package for me. I have a nice dining room separate from my living area. Sliding doors from the dining room open onto a nice sized covered porch which looks out onto a lovely grassy courtyard with bushes. Again very private back there. I put up hooks for my porch swing and it is so nice to relax on the porch in my swing. This is a very safe neighborhood. No problems that I know of or have experienced. Lots of medical students but no loud rowdy undergraduates. I rarely hear anyone in any of the apartments near me. Plenty of parking. They are really good about promptly fixing anything goes wrong. I have only seen a couple of spiders the whole time I lived here. No other bugs. I could live here forever: I enjoy it so much, but I drive to Chapel Hill every week to help care for my grandsons for 2-3 days. It is a two hour drive and after doing that drive for almost 5 years, I am ready to live closer to them,
