Southport Crossing is a retail center locating at the northwest quadrant of the intersection of Southport-Supply Road Southeast and Long Beach Road Southeast in the Southport community in Brunswick County, North Carolina. It will be anchored by a Lowe's Foods supermarket and a freestanding CVS drugstore. Both Lowe's Foods #201 and CVS #7382 at Five Oak Village, 4961 Long Beach Road Southeast, Southport, North Carolina 28461-8001, will be replaced by their new Southport Crossing stores.

Has construction of Southport Crossing begun yet?

There is a small sign on the property that says "coming soon ".... whatever timing that means.

If construction has not begun yet, the earliest Southport Crossing could open would be in early 2018.

From watching the construction / development process at the other Lowes center at Midway .... I would "guess" longer than that.

Developer Cape Fear Commercial, Wilmington, NC, announced that site work for this shopping center began earlier this week.

What happens to the plaza where these stores are now located, are we looking at another empty property??

Obviously yes, until such time as the owner recruits new stores to take their place.
