Default Manteo Accommodations

My husband and I are planning a trip to the OBX in early June, and would like to stay in Manteo. We will be there about three days, and would like to stay in an inn or hotel rather than a rental house.

I've done a lot of Googling and have narrowed it down to a couple of places: The Roanoke Island Inn, and The White Doe Inn. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of either place to share?

I looked at the chain hotels in the area, and they seemed to get mediocre reviews. We're not necessarily looking for five-star accommodations, but we would like a nice, clean room with good service.

If anyone has other recommendations, I'd love to hear about those as well. Thanks in advance!

I HIGHLY recommend Cameron House Inn. ESPECIALLY if you like a laid back atmosphere and Arts & Crafts/Bungalow architecture and furniture.

My wife and I had the best vacation of our lives there. The owners and the managers are all friendly and helpful. The inn is 1-2 blocks from downtown Manteo so there is plenty to do in walking distance.

If you are looking for restaurants there are two that I recommend:
Full Moon Cafe
The Full Moon Cafe
Orteaga'z Grill
