Where are people get Herring from? Did NC lift that stupid, unnecessary moratorium on keeping herring?

I don't think the ban has been lifted yet. But herring has been available each spring...I don't remember where it is coming from though...

Here's some info on the famous Seagull Cafe in Colerain....

HomegrownHandmade - Site Information

You can call them and see if they are open yet.

Jamesville also has the Herring Festival in late March...the Cypress Grill in Jamesville is also known for it.

Thanks - I hadn't heard of the Seagull Cafe. I know Cypress Grill is known for herring but I feel there is much better to be had elsewhere.

Basically just interested in whether anyone has spotted signs up yet. Many towns have herring church suppers, etc. and signs begin to be posted...
