That's awesome! I am glad to hear that steps are being taken to revitalize the downtown area.

A brewery would work well on Main Street as well. If someone was able to bring a brewery to Oriental, it certainly would work for Washington. It is a place ripe for revitalization, IMO.

Washington made a list for top holiday destinations, based purely on the visual I assume. Most of the boats along the great waterfront are decorated for the holidays.

I agree with the above poster..the Waterfront walk is really nice and there are friendly people to meet. When we spent a weekend there we really enjoyed walking there. We thought "Little Washington" has enormous potential.

But we found it somewhat of a culinary wasteland with not many choices of interesting cuisine. I bet some smart chefs could do really well there...opportunity knocking. Lots of retirees looking for some fun places to eat. Not necessarily real high end but good value places with honest, local ingredients...even a downtown great burrito or taco stand would take off...a la Beaufort's (and Morehead's) Dank Burrito's creative menu.
