Apartments in Wilmington with No Credit Check (leasing agent, condo) - Coastal North Carolina - North Carolina (NC) - City-Data Forum

I am looking for apartments or townhomes in the Wilmington area. My one concern is that I am looking for places that do not check credit. I've had two lay-offs in the last year and 1/2 and my credit is at its worst.

I've found good employment here but I know that it will be almost impossible for me to secure an apartment with one of the apartment communties who do credit checks. Can anyone help me with information on any apartments/realtors/leasing agents who don't check your credit for new tenants?

I have not been on the forum for awhile and just saw your post. If you are still looking my suggestion is look for a private owner of a condo or townhouse. Offer to pay several months in advance if you can. I think that would be the best route for you.

Agreed with Cuppy... your very best bet is to find a private landlord. many, if not most, do not do credit checks although you will have to pay a deposit- which is pretty standard anywhere.

My husband and I are moving to the Wilmington area and we need to find an apartment that doesn't do credit checks. Please help by giving some direction in where to look. I know we need to find a private owner /landlord but have no idea on how to do that being states away. We need something so we can move into when we arrive... please help.

Since a credit check is so easy to obtain online these days, many more private landlords are running them and charging the applicant the cost to the applicant. You will also be required to priced proof of employment.

Craigslist. With the usual precautions, of course.
