Hi I am trying to find out if anyone know of any affordable moving help in Jacksonville or Richlands? I am moving next month, I am a disabled veteran who will be having my left leg amputated after a botched knee hardware replacement surgery in July I got a quote from two men and a truck and they want over $700! I can't afford that, any suggestions?

Can you ask the local VA clinic for help finding volunteers who would help you move? There must be some young, sympathetic folks out there who could help. Perhaps some high-school students who need community service credit, although you need an older driver to rent a truck. Perhaps also put a "help wanted" ad on Craigslist with a price you feel is fair.

FWIW, I would have suggested the "two guys and a truck" type of business. Sorry to hear you can't afford them.

You can also try www.moving.com - you can enter your move information and then movers will send you quotes. I have also had good luck using an app called Thumbtack - they offer a variety of home-related services. Best of luck to you.
