I don't know much about New Bern, but I think this new massive park being developed as a result of a large land donation by a citizen is a significant development.

I think the park is great but that is not a citizen. It’s a large mining corporation that just unloaded a hole they’ve had for years for a likely massive tax deduction.

It is interesting that part of the deal is that any development must use Company's products.

I hope the lakes will be retained for non-powerboating.

A 900 acre park? Thats massive, Central Park i believe is only 700 acres for comparison. A very good amenity to have for the city going forward indeed. Most of this is water though?
