Just wondering, why do people on a forum like this, have to be so snarky and sarcastic.

Just like the bullies you knew at school they feel better about themselves when they make other people feel bad or inferior.

The sad thing is, if you move to Brunswick County you WILL meet many them live and there worse in person, go figure.

So I went to dinner at Castucci's last night and overall, it was ok, but definitely not fantastic. The space itself is terrible...low ceilinged, cramped, loud with no bar area for people to stand while waiting for a table. Heaven help you if you're seated near the door, as you'll have people standing around and over you the whole time. And the tables are jammed in so close it might as well be communal seating.

The food is good, not great. I asked our server about the Fettucine Alfredo and he confirmed it was made with cream, so that was out. (See how easy that is?) I had the Spaghetti Carbonara and my wife had a veal dish. My dish was marred by way too much pepper, and it was made with some sort of ham, not guanciale or pancetta as it should. Our server asked if I'd like some parm for my pasta...it was the Kraft style stuff in a glass shaker! No credible italian restaurant does that.

The bread was good, but served with little containers of butter like you'd get at a diner, rather than a crock of quality butter or olive oil. We had the creme brule for desert, and again, it was ok, but not outstanding.

Overall, its ok, and I'd probably go back, but there's certainly no compelling reason to hurry back in.

Yep... just as I figured BC.

All that must be the reason they turn over their tables three times each night with repeat customers every night since they opened their doors and people wait outside in the cold to get in.... yep, that must be it.

McDonalds is busy too, lol. Lots of non-great restaurants do good business...doesn't make them great. Many people don't or can't appreciate the difference between good and great. And thats ok, if you like it, enjoy it!

Well my friend, you are correct about at least ONE thing.... McDonalds sells mucho food but I wouldn't go in the place.

We went to Castucci's on New Years Eve with a party of 16 from St James ( we took a vote on where to go and Castucci's was unanimous ) and of course all repeat patrons, we all had lovely dinners along with the rest of the full house. Chef Moseys' creme brullee was particularly yummy.

I must admit though that although you had quite a list of horrible, terrible things about the place, I believe you missed the crack in the driveway outside.

However I must disagree with one thing you mentioned.... if I were you I wouldn't even consider going back, life is too short to subject yourself to all that misery.

Lol, what a drama queen you are! Horrible, terrible, misery? C'mon man, get real. I actually said the food was good, just not great. Why does that twist you up so much and why must you take my opinion so personally? If you like it, great! Enjoy! I started this thread, and I posted my opinion, and it wasn't even directed at you. Move on, please.

"Yummy" is how my 4 year grandson describes his food, lol.
