C'mon man .... get real, yummy has always been a great way to express liking good food .... I can only imagine your bitter disappointment over their use of cream and butter..... I'm obviously not a high class gourmet such as yourself ..... I simply like putting away good chow at an Italian joint straight from Jersey.

The difference can be detected immediately, after eating the first or second forkful.

Cream is nasty.

Well, he could have simply asked the server, as I did. He confirmed (a bit sheepishly it appeared) that it was made with cream, which is not how a quality italian-american restaurant would make the dish. So, I passed on it.

Servers should be aware of whats in the restaurant's dishes, and how they are prepared. Its part of their training, knowledge, and what they get paid for. You find that to be unusual? You've never asked a server a question about something on the menu?

Well guys .... I dunno ..... the fact is that the place is full to overflowing just about every night since they opened, with many, many repeat customers, with people standing outside in the cold waiting for their opportunity to eat Castucci's food and to go orders flying out the door. I guess there are enough uneducated, unaware, non haute cuisine types that love eating in an "Italian Joint" from Jersey ( like it says on their sign ) and aren't really too consumed about your cream thing..... but maybe I'm wrong..... we just like the food. BTW, I don't believe they have servers, they call them waiters.

Butter, yes. Cream, no.

"Fettuccine Alfredo consists of four ingredients: Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, butter, fettuccine, and a pinch of salt. No cream. No eggs." Try this recipe, if you can. Its almost life changing.

Well BC, bowing to your expertise as a knowledgeable gourmet type food personality, these chefs must be morons because every one uses butter and cream in their fettucine Alfredo..... hopefully they will learn their lesson at some point and stop hoodwinking an unsuspecting public with their very tasty but incorrect dish.
