Hey, we are considering buying a house in Maysville, NC. The area looks great and clean but from what Iíve heard itís not the best area. I donít mind it being a small town with very little shopping, Iím more concerned about crime and schools. Can anyone give some insight? Weíve looked at Palo Alto Crossing and a few other communities like that. All the house weíve considered are on the Onslow County side. TIA

What do you mean by "best"? I have a friend who lives in Maysville on several acres. They like it because they like living out in the country. The disadvantage includes having to use satellite internet. I have never heard them complain about crime.

If you have school children, I think there are better schools closer to the city of Jacksonville.

I think the by-pass is set, but make sure you are happy with where the house is relative to the new route around Maysville.
