Hey everyone , so I’ve visited Wilmington once already and checked out the area a little. I’m looking for some suggestions for good areas or certain apartments, I dont want to be downtown. I have looked around Mayfaire and porters neck from some other peoples’ suggestions and thought it was nice so looking for more. Also... going down( coming from ct)to visit in the summer again and would like some places to go out! I’m in my early 30s. So any suggestions for the same age crowd would be great! I’m an LPN and plan to move in September ish once i find a job. Thanks in advance to any responses!
There are several new and newish apartment communities in the southern part of the city, specifically the Barclay area around 17th Street and Independence Blvd. They seem to be attracting lots of young and youngish people, and there's lots of new retail and entertainment options in that area.
If you don't want to be downtown but want easy access to the city, look at Leland. There are new apartments that recently opened. 10 minutes to the heart of Wilmington.

Just note that this is further from the beach communities, but does give you good access to downtown. Depends on what your priorities are.
