Thinking of another visit to Wilmington area and considering of taking advantage of the CP “Discovery Package”. Worth it? Run away? In between?

Then I would think the discovery package would be good. I doubt its a high pressure deal, but I've never done it so hopefully someone with direct experience will chime in.

See my post in Compass Pointe---pro's and cons. In short yes it's worth it. We dealt with a very knowledgeable gentleman 'KC'. He knew from the start that we were not there to purchase, but rather to see if A) the Willmington area was right for us and B) if it was, which community would be the best fit. He spent the time to really explain and show the community, it's long-term plans and the advantages/disadvantages of resale vs new vs buying land and custom building---without pushing one over the other. The advantage of the BF package was getting to stay in the community--we stayed in one of the cottages. The advantage of the CP package is that we got to enjoy downtown Willmington. I would recommend doing both.

Agree with Grinch, BF had us stay on site to get a real feel of the development. When we first came done to look 2 years ago, our realtor put a combined package of BF and CP so we’d have a week to really see the area.

No pressure at all in either place. They will take you around and answer whatever questions you have.
Definitely get your own buyer’s agent. They’ll set everything up, and steer the tour to what you want.

I found out by the Ideal Living Expo that came to NJ with reps from developments all along the East Coast.
I found a local realtor from their online site offering a package of info on the Wilmington area.
They set up the packages and even took us to look at resales.
PM me if you want their contact info.

Just did the Discovery Package 10/5-10/7. Well worth it, the Marriott was fine, centrally located. Wilmington got hit hard from the hurricane, I'd say 80% of the downtown business's were back up and running. Thoroughly enjoyed Wilmington. We were there to explore and see if we liked the area, there wasn't a heavy sales pitch at all at Compass Pointe. We also stayed 2 nights at Brunswick Forest in one of the cottages. Which also was very comfortable.
