crabbing In Nc What Area Is A Good Place

Literally in any body of water inside of an ocean inlet. But generally speaking- shallower waters 5 feet or less in any estaurine, backwater environment will be most productive.

NC Blue Crab Limits Per Person
Blue Crab: 5" Carapace Width (Minimum)
6 3/4" Carapace Width (Maximum)
50 crabs/day not to exceed 100 crabs/vessel/day

Here is a great web site for blue crab identification. It shows how to tell the diference between a "Jimmy", "Sally" and a "Sook" CLICK HERE

Mattamuskeet is on a distinguished road
The best place in n. caroline for crabbing is Lake Mattamuskeet also offer the larges crabs in n. caroline up to 9 inchs. The best places are on the refuge and they have a limit of 12 per person a day but worth the trip .Carawan's Motel on Lake Mattamuskeet in Hyde County, North Carolina Offers Lodging and Guided Hunts in a Hunting and Fishing Paradise
