My mom grew up in Williamston (my grandparents still live there) - some of my fondest memories are of my grandmother taking me to Washington for the day when I was staying with them. The waterfront is so picturesque, I love Bill's Hot Dogs, and when I was little there was a small bookstore downtown that was just wonderful. The Estuarium is a must-visit now - such a cool space!

How about you?

My ranking would be:
1. New Bern (waterfront; downtown shops-pubs-restaurants; history/culture; and convenience to Crystal Coast)
2. Washington
3. Edenton
4. Oriental

Elizabeth City. My mom grew up there, and we made a lot of trips there when I was to visit relatives. The waterfront was always fun.

It's hard to pinpoint a favorite city as each city has some uniqueness to it and I enjoy spending time in most cities.

History: Edenton, New Bern, and Bath

Shopping, Night life/Live music: Greenville

Water activities/boating/fishing: Edenton, Washington, New Bern, Elizabeth City, and Swansboro

Dining: Greenville, New Bern, and Kinston

Sports: Greenville (Pirates), Kinston (Wood Ducks)
