We're staying in Kure Beach on the 22nd, 23rd (Sat/Sun). We thought we might go up to Wilmington to check out Caprice Bistro. It looks like the closest parking is the 2nd Street parking garage. Or is it likely we would find street parking? What will traffic be like into Wilmington on a weekend evening? Is there any big event happening in downtown Wilmington on those two days?

There are several pay lots scattered around downtown as well as a few garages. If you go in the early evening, no later than 8 PM, you should be able to find parking pretty easy, but you'll more than likely have to pay to park. Traffic shouldn't be an issue unless there's a festival going on and there aren't any to my knowledge.

Thank you for that response. I went to a/the city parking site. I saw garages but not parking lots. I don't mind paying.

On street parking is in extremely high demand. Just park in the deck.

Should I avoid the street level parking lots also or are those worth checking out?

They're fine, but they'll probably be full too, especially on Saturday night. I just find it easier and quicker to go straight to the deck.

I agree, just go straight to the parking garage.
I use the one at the corner of Market and Front streets. Next to Slice of Life Pizzeria and Pub
