Smile houses in winterville

Hi
We are wanting to move to Winterville since we will start work at ECU.

We have found a lovely home in Winterville. Part of the backyard sits on a floodplain; however the house itself is not on the 100 year floodplain. Any advice regarding purchasing such a home?

Thank you, Sam.

After Floyd, I would stay away from anything in the 100 year flood plain.

I had just moved out of my apt on Wyndham Circle a few weeks before it hit.

When was the house built. If it was before 1999 be careful it may have suffered some damage from Floyd. Make sure you check with the neighbors. I was there for Floyd and it things in the 1000 year flood plain.

If you are set on winterville, its a nice area, but I much prefer Greenville and its a lot closer to ECU. From winterville expect 30 minute drive. hope this helps.

If you let me know what street the home is on, I can give you more info. I lived near AG Cox during the flood.
