I've lived on the coast or East of 95 in NC my entire life. 99% of hurricanes are two days of wind and rain. If you have a small generator and a food pack you are fine. The 1%, you are *****ed no matter where you run, LOL! Floyd was awful, but the 2 dozen other storms were just practice for it. Prepare sanely and you can ride out most. If they demand you leave town, go ahead and do it and work your plan "B". Make sure you have a plan "B".

Does anyone know about the crime in Leland? Or what the town is like? I have checked a few different sites and they give different figures on the crime. Is Castle Hayne or Hampstead much better?
