Residents or people who live close to Bath. (Beaufort, Ocracoke: home, buy)

Hey all I'm currently looking for land in Beaufort County and recently made an offer for a lot in Bath to build a secondary home. I have visited it a couple times now and enjoy the low key feel.



Just looking for opinions of residents and people who live close to the area. Just general information for a possible newcomer. The lot I made an offer on has a creek on the backend that I could use to access the Pamlico river and my plan is to eventually buy a boat and attempt to make a weekend trip to Ocracoke.

I don't live in the immediate area, but Bath is too small and isolated for my tastes.

With your name, you should feel right at home in Bath, reportedly the birthplace of Edward Teach aka Blackbeard the Pirate.

I think Bath is a sweet little community, laid back, and with lots of history. Does get pretty torrid in the summer as it's away from the cooling coastal ocean breezes...
