I've been looking at homes online in the area around Tobacco Rd, just south of the country club. It appears to be a quiet section on the outskirts of the city. Is this a good area? I'm considering a duplex, but want a nice neighborhood feel and safety is important. Thanks

Tobacco rd is in Greenville......

It is over on the west or southwest side of town. I think over near where the new movie theater and all is.

I am not positive but that area seems to be pretty nice. I can't say for sure since I don't go over to that side of town much.

Tobacco Road itself is not a very nice area - but the area around it is growing with a new movie theater and redevelopment of the old mall. If the OP is looking at Brook Hollow or Cobblestone for duplexes - those areas are pretty nice. I would steer away from anything directly off of Greenville Blvd. or Memorial in that area.

For real estate, the best areas of town are probably off of Firetower Road, Red Banks, Arlington, and Charles in the eastern part of town. Other nice areas are outside of the Town of Simpson and the Winterville area. There are also nice areas west of the hospital off of Hwy 43. In general, however, I like a lot of the areas just outside of the city limits (I know that is a broad range).

Good luck!

Tobacco road is a ghetto. Stay far, far away.
