We are headed to Carolina Beach for the 1st time and are taking our small dog. Does anyone know what the policy is at Carolina Beach. We have been to Hilton Head in the past, and they are allowed on leash early in the morning and late in the afternoon durinjg peak season. Just wondered if the policy was similar.

We just got back from there this Saturday with our small dog. Dogs are not allowed during peak season in town or on the beach. There is a dog park, but we never found it. You can take your dog on a leash at the north end of Carolina Beach right past the fishing pier. Every now and then we would see people walking their dog on the main part of the beach, but we constantly saw lifeguards and police trucks driving up and down the beach so we didn't want to take the chance. After 7pm the parking meters are free and parking was never a problem, so we would just take our dog to the north pier then and walk him around our neighborhood a few times a day.
