Hi everyone

I am a single mom of a wonderful boy and I am looking for a small town near the beach, little traffic, reasonable housing cost, good school, and friendly people. I want to move asap but could use a little help finding out some info on some small towns near Wilmington. I am not sure why I am interested in Wilimington but I heard it's nice. True? I will be very grateful for any information you are able to provide

Lis

Dear Lost in Pa,

I really don't know anything about Willmington except it has good shopping. The Newport, Swansboro, Beaufort, Morehead City area is a nice place to be. All of those towns are what you are looking for. Newport has great schools especially the high school, Croatan High School. If you go on this web site,
http://www.insiders.com/crystalcoast/main-schools.htm and click on Public Schools or Private which ever you are interested in the page will take you to the school section. In the paragraph under Carteret County there will be a web site to look at the schools in Carteret County.
Good Luck.
Sybil

Shallotte used to be this way - not sure how the traffic is now though.

wilmington is a small town near the beach. traffic is pretty bad for a small town. it's not like city traffic though. people here aren't going to be more friendly than anywhere else. there are friendly people, and there are rude people. housing cost is high here, but you can still find some decent deals. just have to hop on them while they are there! rent here is also relatively low.
