Default Teaching jobs?

Hi all,

I'm moving to Chesapeake, VA, this summer and have been looking for an elementary teaching job. I am also certified to teach in NC and was wondering if there are any districts that are in reasonable commuting distance from Chesapeake - like an hour or less? I'm very unfamiliar with the area (coming from CT) so I really am a bit clueless.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Hello Junie, Chesapeake is pretty large but probably the closest is Currituck, Camden, and Pasquotank. Currituck and Camden have very good reputations and Pasquotank not as good. Moyock has an elementary school and middle school in the town and it is just across the NC/VA border (3 miles into NC) Both are good small schools. I had three children go through Moyock Elem. and two go through Moyock Middle (as it is a newer school and my oldest attended Currituck middle). Straight down Rt. 168 like you are going to Nagshead. Check out this link: Currituck County Schools
I hope this is helpful.
