I was reading postings on the Weather forum about this HUrricane they are watching which I guess is a level 3 now. We are moving to Elizabeth City next week. My husband is leaving by air on Friday and we are driving van and moving van leaving Michigan Tuesday next week and getting to Elizabeth City on Wednesday. How likey is hurricanes in this area. I was told that you can feel the effects from one within a 100 miles. Is anyone concerned or is this a issue to not be concerned with. I 'm asking because we are driving into the area.

Looking at the flood history...I feel like the NC Coast is due for a good one
Driving should not be a problem as long as you check weather conditions
They usually have plenty of notice on dangerous conditions due to hurricanes
Good luck in Elizabeth City..enjoy
