I chose New Bern (from a map) as my relocation site. I have never been to NC. I am 51, female, soon to be divorced and have a BS in Elementary Education, but have been a preschool teacher for the past 15 years. I've always wanted to live near the coast. Would I be better off job-wise going somewhere else? PS - I'll be renting.

New Bern is a very nice town, but it does attract a lot of retirees (I'm only familiar with it because my dad retired there). I'm not really sure how many young families are there. My guess is that the preschool teaching market could be pretty competitive since that's the kind of thing that retirees might still do part time. What size of town do you want? Wilmington is much larger and might be a better bet for jobs.
