Default OBX night spot for mid-40s couple

any recommendations on a good place for a mid-40's couple can get away at night for a few drinks in KDH, NH, or Manteo?

Port 'O Call in KDH is a decent place for drinks and live music. There are two floors, if you want semi-crowded dance floor stay down, if you want to listen to music while sitting and talking hang out upstairs, nice place. Check their website for events:

Have you tried Poor Richard's on the Waterfront in Manteo?

It is a sandwich shop but they have a separate bar that is open late nights. They have live acoustic music nearly every night with no cover charge.

My only problem with the place is it is NOT smoke free, but such is life on Tobacco road.

We live in KDH and we like Jolly Roger, Hurricane Mo's in Manteo, and Basnight's Lone Cedar on the causeway. Beach Road Grill has a great local's vibe. It is on the beach road in Nags Head (where Mulligan's used to be)
