What cities in Coastal NC would have comparable job markets to Charlotte and raleigh?? I love living near the coast but CHLT and Raleigh seem more promising as far as abundance of quality jobs. Any suggestions?

Sorry the job market on the coast is pretty bad You have MANY more options in Charlotte and Raleigh.

I second this...I grew up in and love Wilmington, but as someone in the tech field, I finally had to face facts and move to the Raleigh area. The pay scale is significantly better too; I took an application support position in Raleigh doing much less work than the one I had in Wilmington, and started off making almost $10K more a year.

Wilmington which is the largest city on the coast cannot be compared to Charlotte or Raleigh due to size and limited industry in the area and that also explains the responses above.
It only around 2.5 hours from Raliegh to the Wilmington area beaches
and around 3 hours for Charlotte to the Charleston area beaches.
