We absolutely love Beaufort, but we could not find a place on the water that we could afford so we ended up near Cape Carteret.

"Beaufort" ends up being bigger than you expect as there are lots of subdivisions outside the town proper.

There were two concerns we had about Beaufort. One was finding a neighborhood which had enough year round people to feel like a neighborhood. I think they're out there, you just have to look for them.

Second was the traffic bottle neck of the drawbridge. There's a lot of growth planned for Beaufort so i expect that problem will get worse.

Morehead City is where we get most of our services, and there are some beautiful neighborhoods.

The neat thing about both Morehead and Beaufort is that they each have a side that you can only see from the water.

We went from our home on the White Oak River down Bogue Sound by Morehead & Beaufort to Shackleford Banks today.

It was a wonderful boat trip. We went right under the Atlantic Beach Bridge.
