Fishing off the beaches at Emerald Isle
I took this shot last Thursday afternoon when we went fishing out Bogue Inlet. We were off Hammocks Beach and the shot was looking back towards the Point at Emerald Isle.
The water was so smooth I was able to do a slide show with my camera mounted on the center console of the skiff. The first set is as we went down the White Oak and out into the ocean. I did another slide show from Swansboro back to Bluewater Cove. Click on the individual slide for a larger picture.
It was an amazing day on the water.

Okay, now I'm not moving there (just kidding). What type of spider is that?

I have no clue what type of spider it is. But If you look closely-You'll see that it is actually two "critters" One predator, the other prey-Or possibly an egg case-I have no idea.
I know I presented it (the spider) very close up and personal. The actual size of the body of the spider is less than a 1/4 the size of a dime.
How about a more pleasant picture from my garden
There are many reasons to love coastal NC. A garden in November is one of them.

Emerald Isle Beach After Ida
Beach shot taken this afternoon on Emerald Isle. At least at Third Street the beaches seem fine, in fact there just might be some extra sand there.

It's a Spiny Backed Orb Weaver.
Here a pic I took last week. It's from the fishing pier at the end of New Craven Middle School Rd on the Neuse River.
