I have lived in the mid Atlantic all my life, roughly between Norfolk Va, Raleigh NC and Wilmington NC.

I will say that barely a year goes by that I do not see some kind of bug I have never seen before.

Unless you spend a lot of time outdoors in wooded and brushy areas or apt to be poking around in dark holes, I would not worry that much about them. Some areas can be bad at times for mosquitos.

Wildlife ranges from owls, hawks, eagles, turkeys, pelicans, to squirrels, fox, coyote, deer, a rare bear, snakes and in some areas, alligators.

Some of these are seasonal and in specific geographic areas.

Again, unless you spend a lot of time working outdoors or hiking, camping, that kind of thing I would say the most dangerous animal or insect you are likely to encounter are deer at night in rural areas if they run across the road in front of your car.
