Default Gas Price Jump

I noticed the gasoline price at the station I buy from that yesterday evening at 6PM it was $3.64/gallon.

This morning at 5AM it was $3.99 gallon

Yep. I heard that gas prices were raised in anticipation of Ike. It must be nice to be in such a position of power that you can raise prices based on speculation that oil rigs and pipelines MAY be affected by the storm.

And this folks, is why we need to stop being SO dependent on oil. Big oil sticks it to us again. Regardless of the affect that Ike has on the oil production equipment in the Gulf, it will take months to get pump prices back to $3.64. By the time they do go down, it will be Thanksgiving and they will be raised again.

Well, this afternoon in Charlotte prices have jumped to $4.29, people are lining up at the pumps, gas is selling out and stations are trying to limit folks to $10 each. Be glad you don't live here. Amazing how quickly the media and big oil can instill panic in people.

$10 limit or 10 gallon limit? Sheesh...at $4+/gallon $10 is a waste of time.

I hear Southport and areas of Wilmington are running out of gas or raising prices and getting mad crowds....I filled up for $3.79 because I had to, at Grissettown (ever hear of it? LOL!) near Shallotte...it was getting too crowded, I heard Shallotte was getting pretty bad, with crowds filling the parking lots and blocking the streets trying to get in.

I think a lot of people are filling up because they are just afraid when they have an empty tank in a few days gas will be gouged twice as high.

My wife tells me it is now $4.19 a gallon. Wow! 55 cents in 24 hours.

There was 1 station in Fayetteville selling regular for $5.49/gal.!!!

I bought gas tonight in Roseboro (small town in Sampson County) for $3.89/PREMIUM! Regular unleaded in Fayetteville, on average, was $3.99/gal...so I paid less for premium in Roseboro, than regular was selling just 30 minutes up the road!
