Question Where should I move?

Hi, my boyfriend and I currently live in Indianapolis. We want to move somewhere a little warmer and near the beach (40-60 min. away or closer) We need a fairly inexpensive city, but we are having a hard time finding an inexpensive place near the beach. I know we wouldn't be able to afford a place right on the beach, but are there nice places a little farther away? Any nice cities with lots of young people? We would like to move to NC, SC, or VA. Any suggestions?

Thanks so much!

Wilmington, NC and Charleston, SC are very nice coastal areas. Just beware of the 3 H's; heat, humidity, and hurricanes Good luck in your search!!!

Are they very expensive? We were hoping to be able to rent an apartment for under $600/month. Do you think its possible there?

^That's probably possible in Wilmington. 600 is pretty low though...you'll probably only find a studio or at most a one-bedroom for that price...and that goes for just about anywhere.

kayc, Where are you thinking of going? Any good ideas? At first I thought of Raleigh, but it is almost 3 hours to the beach, and I figure if I'm moving closer to the coast, I might as well be able to enjoy the beach. But, it is so expensive there. In South Bend (where I'm from) we rented a two bedroom with utilities included for under $600. So, everything is expensive compared to that! I'm sure its the same near Fort Wayne.

Well, we are taking a trip out to NC this spring to check it out, but I'm still not sure where we are going to go. If you find any great cities, let me know!!

My best friend just moved to Myrtle Beach, SC but it is super expensive there and there is lots of traffic.

Kay, check out New Bern, NC - might be more affordable than other areas closer to the beach.
