I am 22 and looking to start a career on the Carolina Coast in a rural area. What are some of the best rural coastal towns for a young person such as myself. There are 3 of us looking to go on this adventure so having a big city or lots of things to do is not a top priority. We are really looking to get somewhere slow and relaxed, rural.

depends on what kind of career you want. the only coastal towns of any size that I can think of would be wilmington, elizabeth city, new bern, morehead city, and beaufort. make sure you have a job before relocating, as that is the biggest obstacle to overcome here.

Not sure if this would belong in the "coastal" section or not...look into Williamston...that's rural to me. My aunt runs a b and b there (in the middle of farm land) and she can tell you all about what it's like there. There's even an antique store that sells mattresses and I think tires as well???

As far as careers two of us are in the criminal justice field and the other is in the teaching field. We would hope to find jobs in our perspective field, I would like to know what kind of job outlook the areas you ahve mentioned have. Also if anyone has any websites that list jobs (other than careerbuilder and monster) that would be great, more specificly like the states website where they list teaching positions, and other state and county jobs. I am looking into law enforcement if that helps
