Default Kure Beach questions

My wife and I recently relocated to the Raleigh area and we are very interested in buying a vacation home near the beach. Based on attractive pricing, we have been considering Carolina Beach and Kure Beach but, until this week, we had never been there. Today, we returned from a one week vacation in the area. Based on our visit, we are more interested in the Kure Beach area than Carolina Beach. I have a few questions about Kure.

Obviously we were there in the off-season, how bad is the traffic in peak season? Is is difficult to get through Carolina Beach to Kure Beach during peak?

In general, how is traffic between Raleigh and the beaches during peak season? This past week the traffic was great, I set my cruise control and almost never had to tap the brakes.

Are there any other major differences we would notice between peak season and now?

Does any one have any opinions or information about Kure Beach Village? There are some properties for sale there that are in our price range and it seems like a nice communirty but I'm interested in hearing what other prople think.

Thanks.

Traffic can get pretty busy in the summer but it can be managed. This applies to all NC beaches. Most houses rent Sat to Sat so I'd plan to arrive on some other day. You can bypass Carolina Beach entirely to get to Kure Beach. Once you cross the bridge into Carolina Beach, turn right at the water tower and it zips you right into Kure Beach village.
