Hi, I was looking for options to travel to Greenville NC but found only 2 options: fly to RDU airport and drive 2 hrs, or fly to Charlotte NC and then transfer to a turbojet ( small plane) going to the Greenville Airport. I have limited time for the trip and am biased towards taking the plane to Greenville.

Have anyone had good experiences with this? How reliable is the flight service? Thanks!

Probably pretty reliable. They usually stick to the schedule unless there is a really bad storm. Are you renting a car in Greenville then?

RDU airport is just about 100 miles from Greenville. Roughly an hour and a half drive. It's an easy, fairly straightforward drive, too. Though, if money is not an object, taking flights to the closest airport is always nice. It may be that if you are renting a car already, flying straight into RDU will be the most economical. Check to see what your rates will be once you arrive in Greenville. Your options may be more limited there. Again, if money is no object, rent a limo if one is available. LOL. Else, I'd take the RDU route, rent a car and drive out to Greenville, myself. Just my two cents.

Fly to RDU, drive to Greenville. I would be closer to 1 1/2 hours, and I doubt you can make connections and fly there that fast. The drive is EZ.

The drive would not be that bad for people who live here. But if you have never been to the raleigh area....it can be very confusing. (beltline)

Challege one: get out of raleigh...lol
Challege two: Find your way through Greenville

If you are not from here, it will be confusing. I would have a GPS with me for sure.

I think the drive would be closer to two hours just because you are not familiar with the area.
