Hi, I'm considering a move to Wilmington later this year. I am Caucasian and my son is African American....my cousin (who lives there) said it would be a very accepting place? Any more feedback? We went to a festival this fall at St. Ann's Church and I was pleased at the diverse families. We are Catholic, but will probably be putting my son in public school. I'll be in sales working from home. He does modeling now where we are in Indiana and has some acting aspirations so the studio there could be a good thing for him. Also, will probably be renting to start out. Looks like some affordable rentals on the the sites I have been checking. Any suggestions on areas to rent?

They film a lot of movies in Wilmington. I don't live there, but both my daughters attended college there and loved the place. For eastern NC, Wilmington is very liberal and highly cultural with its diverse population. Good luck to both of you. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas.

Hi, I’m spanish, my husband african american, we left Greensboro, NC sick of racism everywhere, our 6 year old child, wasn't white in off or black in off to fit @ school, it was horrible, but we moved 9 months ago to Wilmington, NC, the change is from hell to heaven. Our son loves his school, people are more educated, and respectful everywhere around, there are lots of activities for children and every age; this is a great place for a biracial family, rents are great price just don't live @ the south area, this will be helpfull:
