Thinking of moving from St. Croix US Virgin Islands to NC
Hello everyone I am new to this site a friend turned me on to it who is thinking of moving to NC. I am seriously considering moving to costal NC from St. Croix US Virgin Islands. So I really need to probably live around water. If anyone can share with me information as to what area would be best for a person who use to live in a large metropolitan area, moved to an island and now wants a more simple life style, but can get to the cith when ever I feel the need, I would appreciate it. I am a teacher, I've sent my application to the NC State Dept of Education> Now I am just doing my research. Thanks for any feedback.

Wilmington is going to be your best bet as far as being near the water and the city at the same time. Most of the other beach towns are fairly rural. Morehead City/Atlantic Beach are probably the only other "cities" that are close to the water.

Plenty of quaint little towns along the NC Coast. My very first choice would be Ocean Isle Beach, close to Shallotte & Calabash and also close to Myrtle Beach, SC. Topsail Island and Surf City is nice, so is Emerald Isle, Atlantic Beach, Moorehead City and Bouge. Lots to choose from

Thanks Laura

Quite honestly given your background, needs and wants I am thinking Carolina Beach would be perfect for you, or Leland, NC. Anything South of Leland will be way too boring, especially during the winter months. Will you be renting initially? If so, there are many rental companies to chose from. Good luck with the job, and let us know how things turn out and any additional information you need.
