We will be relocating to the Newport area this summer and I am having a hard time locating any pre-k programs that aren't full-time daycare facilities. The public schools will only take 4 year olds in the program and my son will have turned 5 just days before school starts. Does anyone know of any good pre-k schools in that area, either public or private? Thanks so much for your help.

Sorry to be unable to help you, but Newport is not much. My coworkers that live there love it, but you probably need to try Havelock, Morehead City, or maybe even New Bern. Those are listed in increasing size, and distance, from Newport. Good Luck.

Just my two cents, parents have a vital say in their childrens education. If you want your child to attend prek you just need to let the staff know. NC is a state which gives parents alot of power over their childs education endevors.

There is a private Christian School in Newport, probably the largest private school in Carteret County.... They even have buses come my way to pick up kids for school...And that is 15 miles away...It is located right on HWY 70 on the east bound side....
