JImi,
Would check Craigslist or google 'apartments in Nags Head, NC' (or Kitty Hawk or Kill Devil Hills) - maybe go w/ a realtor for a rental - just a few suggestions in finding some apartments. Your best bet though would be to come and look. Not sure if you plan on working but my impression is there's not a lot of jobs there as it is a tourist area, busy in the summer, very quiet in the winter.

Hey Jimi,
You might consider either the VA Beach area or go further south to the Jacksonville Area. Nagshead/Kittyhawk is not known for its apartments plus jobs would an issue. I would also consider starting a new thread about what you're looking for. There are several from the Jacksonville area that will be able to give you a hand.
