What happened to the weatherman?
Does anyone know what happened to Bobby Deskins, the weatherman on WCTI ? That would be ABC in the New Bern area.

Bobby came to 10 Connects in January 2009 from eastern North Carolina. That's where he spent the last six years, tracking storms and plenty of hurricanes along the Carolina coast. He is originally from Maryland and also lived in southern California for five years. He has seen a large variety of weather ranging from tornadoes to hurricanes to earthquakes and is now excited to be forecasting the weather here in sunny and warm Florida.

He went from the 105th television market in the US to the 13th. Big jump, Big career move.

Thanks for the info. WCTI seems to be losing more good people. The other night I heard the tall blonde woman say she was leaving to spend more time with her kids. Well our loss is their gain, I really enjoyed him as the weatherman.

The NC coast has three different television "markets". New Bern/Greenville/Washington (size 105), Wilmington (size 135) and the Norfolk market (size: 42).
(NYC is the the number 1 size market with over 7.3 TV Homes. Glendive Montana is the smallest at 210 market size)
The Wilmington and New Bern markets are small television markets with small budgets. Good places for people to start or to use as a stepping stone. Generally speaking-If an on-air stays in one of these two markets its because they really want to.

The rankings has changed since the last time you looked at them.
According to the Neilsen 2008-2009...
43 Norfolk-Portsmth-Newpt Nws
103 Greenville-N.Bern-Washngtn
134 Wilmington

Small changes but changes nevertheless. We wouldn't want a real estate agent to give inaccurate info now would we?

Or have a broadcaster mislead the public!
