I have found that Riverside is the best neighborhood in Elizabeth City, NC. It is a well established neighborhood where the mayor, city manager, attorney's and many professionals live. The annual bike race and mini-marathon runs through this beautiful tree lined area with the Pasquotank River running alongside the entire neighborhod. We have never had a problem and have left our doors open without any concern. Most of our neighbors have piers off their front yards! We have a great coffee shop called Muddy Waters. They have the best latte's I have tasted, and I have traveled all over the US. The lots are large and the homes were constructed from 1920 up to 1987. We are so glad that we found our great old house along the river!

Skatingtoolman, you are correct. I have found that this is a great neighborhood to live in. It is only a short distance to downtown. Very peaceful. Most neighbors have been here for a long time. A very stable neighborhood. Probably, the best neighborhood for walking your dog, or going out for a jog or evening stroll.
