I'd strongly recommend visiting all the area schools before making a decision. Compare everything....facilities, curriculum, reputation, faculty, cost, etc.
You'll find this:

Miller Motte: accredited, opened this past summer, many course offerings, cosmetology is only a small part of their school. They are difficult to obtain information, but if you filter through all the sales pitches, brochures, etc....you'll find that it takes almost 2 years to complete cosmetology, at a cost of approx $27,000. (hint: an associates degree in cosmetology is worthless unless you ever want to teach it in a community college).

Alexander Paul Institute: not accredited. Opened almost a year ago, cosmetology is their only course. The "management team" are 2 brothers in their early-mid 20's...no cosmetology experience except for their father who owns a few salons in town. Less than a year to complete the program. Cost is approx $7000.

Mitchell's Academy: accredited. Opened about 40 yrs ago, cosmetology is their only course. They are in their 3rd location in Greenville. The management team is made up of 2 brothers with 40+ yrs experience each, made up of actually being stylists and teachers themselves. The school has partnered with Pitt Community College since the mid-70's, which makes the tuition about $800/semester. Takes less than one year to complete the program.
