Hello all,

My fiancee and I are looking at getting married in the Duck/Corolla area this November (the week of Thanksgiving).

We're going to rent a house for the week and plan on having the immediate family and wedding party stay with us. We estimate about 20 people at this point, but are curious about the level of activity in the area at this time of year.

I know that it will be slightly cooler than usual, but does anyone know how cold it gets along the coast then? Also, we're curious to know if all of the stores, tourist sites, and restaurants would be open, or if the whole place just shuts down that late into the year.

Please help us out here. We would appreciate honest and candid responses. My initial reaction to the idea was, "A beach wedding in November???". So, I'm basically trying to convince myself that it's a good idea.
