Hello All,

I am looking to move to Fairfield, NC. I know there are like 2 or 3 Fairfields. This one is between Engelhard and Swanquarter. I love the Outer Banks, but want to live on land. If anyone can help me out that would be great.

Peace Always...............

I am looking for some help here please. We are going to take a trip to Fairfield and Swan Quarter's. I am woundering what it is like out there? I have done the Net search, but I would love to hear from people who know the area what they have to say. Is it real county like hunting and fishing? Far away from everything? We were thinking of staying at the Engelhard Hotel for about 3-days in our travels. Is that a good pit stop? We heard they were Duck Guide Hunters. Any info would be most kind. Thank you in advance for all your time and help in this matter.

Have you made your trip yet?

"Is it real country like?"
Yes it is very country. The hunting is great. The best way to have a lot of success is to hunt with a local guide, if the weather is right you'll shoot a lot of ducks.

I haven't been through Englehard in a long time so I can't say about their hotel. Fairfield has a motel and I believe there is also a motel south of Mattamuskeet.

There is a good restaurant in Fairfield.

Did you ever move??
The area you area you are talking about is great Fall, Winter, beautiful really.
Spring is o.k., Summer is typical Southern Coastal, hot, humid and buggy. Summers their remind me of Vietnam, seriously.
If you one of those people who hate snow and cold you will probably like Fairfield/Swan Quarter area. Great fishing and hunting.
