10th Street Connector open. I drove across it this morning. Has some very nice views of uptown and the warehouse district!

As did I; it provides such a different perspective of the area.

Not sure if anyone has noticed this, but the former Tipsy Teapot/Crave/Nog space has a sign up in the window for 'Gringo Jones Market Cafe' coming soon--vegan restaurant. With Molly's opening up just down the street, that would be two restaurants with vegan options in a relatively small window.

Unrelated--look out for Gotcha Group to win the new bikeshare service agreement with ECU. Not in the bag yet, but moving in that direction. City is once again not at the table.

A vegan restaurant Uptown? Take all my money, that’s excellent news! Would’ve loved to be an investor in that.

As a follow-up to the above RE: Gotcha--tentative agreement is for operation of electric-assist bikes, and EV ride-share. The rideshare vehicles look like extended-cab golf carts and would be operated within a two-mile radius of campus by members of the Gotcha team.

The latter is interesting for a couple of reasons: operation off-campus will require city approval as these vehicles are not designed to operate on roads, and ECU's denial of scooters/Lime is, in part, due to their desire to promote active transportation. EV rideshare accomplishes neither of these, although I do applaud them for recognizing that micromobility is a legitimate mode of transportation and effective method of reducing congestion.

Looks like they have a pretty aggressive expansion plan in the Mid-Atlantic. 4 NC locations listed (Durham, Greenville, Fayetteville, Jacksonville)
