YAY another Wilco Hess (Sarcaism)! Greenville needs to do something seriously because it's not making any sense that Gas Stations, Car Washes, and etc are the "hang out" spots. Sheetz is not the best place ever...lol

I'd rather have a Sheetz. At least they have more than candy bars and sodas. All of the Wilco Hess' look dated even when they're brand new. And when is the NC attorney General going to start looking at that company for a serious monopoly violation. I know that they own 2 stations literally side by side in Ayden. There are also 2 BP's across the street from one another on Arlington. Can we get a little competition going here or will the state allow 2 gas distributors to dominate an entire market. Trade Wilco and Wilco Hess. That's all you see everywhere.

They are considered a monopoly in my eyes but I guess it's not really considered one! When you have a monopoly you buy out all or nearly all competition! Sheetz is starting to take over Greenville itself, lol! Hess stores do look outdated to me too, even when there new....The sad part about those BP's your talking about is that one of them was/is constantly getting robbed (they have these large camera's now that lights blink very bright, and theres always a unintended police cruiser at the station), then the other one just closes early!

*A new dormitory is under construction at intersection of Pitt St and 1st Street...It will be 4 levels
(Here's a picture of it)

*There are plans for 175 room downtown hotel!!!
*The Greenway Trails have supposedly started construction but I don't know where they are
*A theater (not movie theater) is going to be renovated on the West Side, I forgot the location though.
*The former Imperial plant will be demolished to make way for a new special facility for children not a good description but what I was told isn't a good description either!!! lol
*There is some kind of new development, that I don't know what it is...lol (Here's a picture of it, but I can't remember what it is)

I think that's about it for Downtown
-There is a new development called Carlton Place in the Medical District that will include office and retail!!!

-There is a new hotel coming into the medical district but it hasn't been announced yet, but it is supposed to be upscale...(but knowing how Greenville it could be a Holiday Inn, because they called the Hampton Inn Upscale when it was announced lol)
-Hampton Inn is topped out and is almost complete at the Greenville Convention Center. (Here is a rendering)

http://www.reflector.com/news/school-board-oks-plan-466375.html (broken link)
