yes, the Harris Teeter by campus is terrible. I remember when it was built long, long ago it was nice. Now it's probably worse than a Food Lion store & tiny. The shopping cart / bagger guy that has been there since like 1990 is the man though. He's a good worker.
Sorry, but a Publix coming to Greenville sounds crazy. They JUST finished a store in Charlotte. I cannot see them opening in Greenville for at least another 3-5 years at the earliest.
It would be awesome if it happened, but that just seems so crazy to me!
Even if Publix arrival in Greenville is 2-4 years away, they could still go ahead and purchase their locations. Bells Fork is a successful business area in Greenville. There's everything right in Publix securing a spot there first. I imagine by the time they come to town, they'll have 3 or 4 locations planned for Greenville/Winterville.
Some updates on two of the off campus student housing properties:
1. Preiss to manage The Boundary at West End. (Article below.) People with property management, leasing, facilities, etc. experience, they are currently accepting resumes as they build their team. I was directed to email resumes to: boundary@tpco.com
For future (and other past) updates about private student housing in Greenville, NC, this is a great publication to check out: Student Housing Business
Does anyone know what is going on in the shopping center on S Memorial near the Mi Cabana and Burger King? There has been a small building that has been vacant for a long time, and now there is a large addition going up. My secret hope is for a Smithfields, but have no proof!
If memory serves me right didn't we have a Smithfield's in the late 80s? It was in the "fast food row" at the corner of Memorial and Stantonsburg.
Edit: yes we did, it was where Captain D's is now. Looked in an old phone book.
